Discover Close-up Photography

If the weather is too bad to be outside with your camera, you can have fun indoors with close-up or macro photography. A few small items or a bouquet of flowers from the grocery store can provide hours of creative fun with your camera.

Using a macro lens with the camera on a tripod allowed me to
capture a detailed close-up of the Christmas cactus blossom.

In my Better Close-up Photos class, you learn tips for focus, light, backgrounds and composition to improve your results. No special equipment is required, but we will discuss some options if you want to get even closer to your subjects.

Class begins Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Lifelong Learning Center in Missoula, Montana. Along with class presentations, there is a Saturday indoor photo shoot to practice with help from the instructor. Registration is open either online, in person or by phone. Come explore the world of macro photography!
