Distant Scenes and Depth of Field

Distant scenes, even those shot with a medium telephoto lens, do not require lots of depth of field because nearly everything is at the infinity focus distance. So use your camera's sharpest aperture, usually a middle one such as f/11, and adjust the shutter speed and ISO as needed for a proper exposure.
