Finding Gardens

You might have a flower bed in your yard. Or you might have community flower gardens in your town. But don't overlook a local or regional arboretum. This is an area devoted to plantings of a diverse collection of trees. Here in Missoula, the University of Montana campus is the state arboretum. And I was surprised to discover two weeping cherry trees in bloom.

The image below shows the environment where the trees live. Future posts will provide a portrait of one tree along with details of branches and flowers. Making environmental, portrait and detail shots is a fun way to add variety to your photographs of any subject.
