Look for Back Light

Nearly every type of tree in fall splendor looks great in back lighting when the sun shines through the leaves like stained glass. But none are highlighted better than the cottonwoods and aspens of the Rocky Mountain west. Positioning your camera opposite the sun with the light pouring through the branches enhances the brilliant yellows. Be sure to adjust your exposure by +1 to ensure the yellow foliage shines.
