Learning to completely control exposure yourself, instead of relying on the camera, ensures you get the look you want in your photographs. In this image, using manual exposure mode allowed me to choose an ISO, aperture and shutter speed to ensure a sharp, well-exposed picture of these ranch dogs despite the rainy conditions.
