Photography at the Fair #8

If you have the opportunity, go early to the fair and watch what the 4H exhibitors do to get their animals ready for judging. Take a variety of images at each stage of the process and you can select a few to tell the story.

In the series below, I discovered that people showing sheep bathe the animals, blow-dry their wool, give the sheep a trim, and then put a "coat" on them to keep the animals clean until their appearance in the arena for judging.

Then the blow-dry

Followed by the trim

These events take place in a variety of lighting conditions. Outside is very bright; inside is dim. Paying attention to the differences in lighting means adjusting the ISO and white balance on the fly.
