Exploring Nature

Fall Reflections Along the
Kim Williams Nature Trail
Missoula, Montana

In western Montana we are fortunate to have a wide variety of public lands and parks to explore with our cameras. I made this image of fall color reflected in the Clark Fork River from the Kim Williams Nature Trail, which runs through Hellgate Canyon next to the University of Montana in Missoula. The blue sky reflection complements the warm yellows and reds of trees and bushes on the opposite bank. Research what public natural spaces are available in your neighborhood and take your camera for a walk in them.

Outdoor Photography Explorations is a hybrid class in which we meet at several different locations around the Missoula valley to photograph at a safe distance from each other and then share our best photos for an online critique. Class begins Saturday, September 12, 2020, with the first critique the following Monday. Click here to register.
