Exposure Is a Creative Tool 2.0

Trees at Sunset
River Point Recreation Area
Seeley Lake, Montana

Last week I wrote about using a bright exposure to create a high key photograph. This time I'm still exploring exposure as a creative tool. I made sure my exposure kept the details in the highlighted tree trunks at medium brightness and let the rest of the picture go dark. This creates a feeling of mystery with only a few highlights to offset the darkness, an effect called low key.
