Creative Exposure - Silhouette

Sunset, Pigeon Point Light Station
Pescadero, California

To create a silhouette, you may need to override your camera's usual exposure setting. If you want to keep the color in the sunset sky, adjust the exposure to be darker and let the foreground go black. This technique works any time the background is brighter than the foreground. Make the exposure favor the background and the foreground becomes a silhouette.
