Low Key Horse Portrait |
Low key photographs typically have a black background and a dark subject with few highlight areas. Spotlighting on this dark brown horse with a touch of white on its nose created the ideal scenario. To ensure the camera ignored the dark background, I measured the light off just the horse's face using the spot meter. With the exposure set correctly for the animal, the background remained dark, giving me the dramatic appearance I wanted.
