| Heron nests in a cottonwood rookery Missoula, Montana |
Last week a friend invited me to see the heron rookery near her house. We could easily see many nests high in the cottonwood branches, but we weren't sure there were any birds in them. A red tailed hawk was screeching that we were invading its territory as it flew overhead.
