Glacier National Park - East Side #9

Saint Mary River Viewpoint
Glacier National Park, Montana

The morning after a strong storm cancelled our evening shoot, we met at the nearby Saint Mary River Viewpoint under extremely windy conditions. The morning sun was highlighting the receding clouds over the park making for spectacular views. Thanks to David Marx's suggestion, I focused on the solid, stationary mountain peaks and relied on a wide-angle focal length and a moderate aperture to help create sufficient depth of field. I also had to increase the ISO to 1600 or more in the dim dawn light in order to have a shutter speed fast enough to stop the blowing trees and grass.
