Spring Birds #2

Two Tree Swallows on Nest Box
Frenchtown, Montana

Swallows are ariel acrobats, swooping back and forth through the air to catch the insects they feed on. Like the meadowlarks, these tree swallows were staking out their nesting site at this box supplied by the state Fish, Wildlife & Parks office. At one point there were three or four birds all trying to take a look at this potential home for their eggs.
