After bitterly cold arctic air pushed west over the Continental Divide in Montana on December 21, the clouds which had earlier brought snow cleared overnight, leading to frigid temperatures the following morning. To the -23 degrees Fahrenheit air temperature, add a mild 3 mph breeze and the wind chill dropped to -33F.
I took this picture with my smartphone through the (dirty) window screen because the color was stunning! And I stayed inside for the day!
