Brave the Cold with Your Camera

Soda Butte Creek
Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Winter can be a challenging time to be outside with your camera. But with a few tips on how to dress and how to protect your camera, you can create amazing shots. Number one tip for your camera is to carry at least one spare battery. The cold saps the power from the battery faster than usual. So keep the spare warm inside your coat and swap it for the dead one. The first battery will revive and be ready to power your shots when the second one fails.

Learn more tips for clothing, camera settings and edits after the shoot in Winter Nature Photography from Start to Finish, beginning February 1, 2024, at the Lifelong Learning Center in Missoula, Montana.
