Show Motion with Shutter Speed

Winter Crossing on the Bear Tracks Bridge
Missoula, Montana

Most times people want to stop the motion of their action subjects. But sometimes a picture with creative blur is more effective. In this photo I wanted to convey the feeling of walking through falling snow. I chose a relatively slow shutter speed of 1/30 second which caused the falling flakes to appear as streaks visible against the dark coats of two people. The woman with the red coat to go with the holiday banners was a bonus!
