Composition Fundamentals #7 -- Angle of View

The vast majority of photos are taken from an adult's standing height, between five and six feet off the ground. You can make your pictures stand out by shooting from a different angle. Here I shot down on the dock from the height of the cruise ship deck for a unique perspective.

The opposite is also true; shoot with the camera at a low angle, such as on the ground. In the image below, I placed the camera about knee-high to photograph the flower from its height about six inches off the ground.
