I'm happy to announce that I've added several more photo editing classes to go along with the camera skills courses already available at The Lifelong Learning Center in Missoula, Montana. These new courses are designed for more experienced photographers and concentrate on advanced photography and editing skills. I still have seats in beginning and intermediate camera courses designed primarily for people with interchangeable lens models (DSLR or mirrorless). Read the descriptions below for more information.

Put together your camera and photo editing skills in this hands-on course. We begin with a review of light, composition and exposure in the classroom. Then we head out to shoot in the field with one-on-one help. We return to the classroom for a review of photo editing steps using Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom's Develop module. Then you get individual help with processing your own images. You may bring your own laptop or use the school's computers. Click here to register.
In this continuing course, we explore advanced tools for processing digital camera raw files using Adobe Photoshop’s Camera Raw program. Learn to apply the powerful Tone Curve and fine-tune colors, create black & white photos with or without tinting, adjust exposure and color in small areas, correct lens distortion, and remove dust spots and red-eye. NOTE: To get the most from this class, you must have access to Adobe Photoshop version CS6 or CC. Prerequisite: Shooting & Processing Digital Camera Raw Files Click here to register.
In this advanced Photoshop Elements class, we edit images non-destructively, using adjustment layers to change exposure and color. We learn to make changes to parts of our photos easily using a digital paint brush. We learn to change precise portions of our photos using selection tools and how to blend these changes with their surroundings. Then we learn to use selections with layer masks for maximum control of our changes. And we explore special effects, including combining images, adding text and applying creative borders. We conclude with properly sizing and sharpening pictures for both print and internet use. NOTE: To get the most from this class, you must have access to Photoshop Elements version 11 or newer. Click here to register.
