Flowers with Texture

When photographing flowers, consider also photographing any natural textures that might be in the garden. You can then combine that texture with the blossom you captured to add additional depth to the image. This works best with a blurred background created with shallow depth of field.

Depending on the model, you might be able to combine the blossom and texture in the camera. Otherwise, it's an easy technique to accomplish with any photo editing software that supports layers, such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
