On sunny fall days, look for ponds, lakes, rivers and other bodies of water to reflect colorful trees lining the shore. Reflections can be nearly exact mirror images or they can be impressions of color and shape, depending on how calm the water is. This is one situation when placing the "horizon" (the bank) in the middle of the frame is an effective composition technique.
