Bannack Night Photography #4

Methodist Church (left) and nearby buildings
Bannack State Park, Montana
301 seconds, f/4, ISO 200
Canon 5D Mark III, 17-40mm f/4 L

The long exposure (5 minutes) in this shot caused the soft streaking of clouds and a few short star trails. I light painted the fronts of the buildings using an LED flashlight. The remainder of the light came from the full moon.

Focusing was difficult in this dim light. So I first placed the flashlight on the sill of the far right window and pointed the light toward the camera. Then I used Live View to focus manually on the light before walking back to remove the flashlight.
