Lolo Pass in Winter #2

Along the showshoe trail
Lolo Pass, Montana/Idaho border

In yesterday's post I described a simple way to tell a story of a place (or person or thing or...) by creating three different images: 1) an environmental wide view, 2) a portrait or medium view, and 3) a close-up or detail view.

Today's image is a medium shot showing the snowshoe path through the snowy forest. There was little color among the snow-covered pines. So when I saw these bare tree trunks with their yellow wood showing, I lined them up with the snowshoe trail marker to create spots of color leading the eye through the scene.
