This historic barn, built from trees cut from the ranch property, would make a good photograph on its own. But it's enhanced by several other composition techniques. The shadows from the fence act as lines (or arrows) leading the way to the barn itself. The building is placed slightly above center and its brilliant red paint contrasts with the cool blue sky in the background and the blue shadows in the foreground.
