The Apple Tree #3

Apples on the tree
Moon-Randolph Homestead
Missoula, Montana

I continued my story of the apple tree in the orchard at the Moon-Randolph Homestead by moving in close and photographing a detail---just two apples on the tree. I liked the imperfections of the worm holes, a reminder of produce before the widespread use of insecticides.

Creating the intention to photograph the subject in its environment (overall view), the subject itself (portrait view), and a close-up of the subject (detail view) lends variety to your collection of pictures. Telling a story visually also challenges you to create more and different images than you might normally make.
