Simulate Alternative Prints with Photoshop

Cyanotype Effect with Border

Using Adobe Photoshop, you can make your pictures look like alternative printing processes such as cyanotypes. For this image I wanted the water to look more blue than it did in the original capture. So I used a color layer to apply the cyanotype tint. On another layer I added a rough border similar to one created by a film negative holder from a darkroom enlarger. There are a variety of "old-fashioned" printing processes that you can imitate using Photoshop's powerful layers and masks.
