Even in the middle of the day on a stroll around the pond, you can find interesting scenes to photograph. Using your camera every day hones your skills as well as your eye as you look for something new to record.
I recommend photographing every day for a month (or longer) or a week if that seems less daunting. You can use any camera you have at the time; editing the pictures afterward is optional.
You can take one picture a day (ala Jim Brandenburg) or many and choose a favorite later. You are bound to make a picture you had never considered trying before. I know I have!
