During the pandemic I've looked for outdoor locations where I can explore at a safe distance from others. This led me to hike along the Grant Creek Trail on the north edge of town. It begins near the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and follows Grant Creek through cottonwood forests. The creek meanders away from the trail and the scene opens out over hay fields, providing a view of the mountains to the north. On this day there were amazing clouds radiating from the distant horizon and extending overhead. Such a view required a wide-angle photograph to commemorate it.
