Winter Landscape

Snowy Hills
Frenchtown, Montana

Sun on snow creates an exposure challenge, especially for landscape images. All the light reflecting off the white surfaces fools the camera's meter into "thinking" there is too much light. So snow photos come out looking dull and dingy after the camera darkens the exposure. To counteract this problem, increase the exposure by +1 or so to return the snow to its pristine brightness.
