| Wranglers lead the trail ride horses to the corrals Many Glacier |
After a stop in the historic Many Glacier Hotel for coffee and a bathroom break, I was returning to my car when I saw this string of horses approaching. Of course, my camera controls were set for still landscapes, not moving animals. I quickly switched to Program exposure mode but failed to turn off the self-timer. My shutter speed was too slow to prevent motion blur in the nearest horse & rider and several other frames suffered from extreme flare as a result of shooting into the morning sun. So I was glad to capture this unexpected moment as well as I did. Note to self: set up a custom exposure mode specifically for moving subjects for future serendipitous events.
