Glacier National Park - East Side #8

Sunrift Gorge Cascade
Glacier National Park, Montana

There are few vantage points from which to photograph the water gushing through the Sunrift Gorge after it leaves the narrowest section (see my previous post). So I made the best composition I could after waiting for other photographers to finish.

When photographing flowing water, it's important to experiment with different shutter speeds, which produce more or less texture in the water. And taking more than one shot at the same shutter speed records changes in the pattern of the water's flow which we can't see. Later review in the computer lets you choose the best texture and pattern from the series.
