In addition to being the subjects of your pictures, lighted carnival rides can serve as colorful backgrounds for silhouettes of people waiting their turn to ride or watching their kids enjoy the excitement as these parents are doing. Adjust the camera controls for a good exposure of the bright ride and let the foreground go dark.
