Landscape Impression Frenchtown Pond State Park, Montana |
While testing a new mirrorless camera at the park down the road, I noticed an interesting reflection along the edge of the pond. It reminded me of an impressionistic painting with the bands of colors and lines not easily identified. Using the equivalent of a 400mm lens, I was able to isolate just the impression. I took several frames since the slight breeze ruffled the water in different ways and fish beneath the surface created ripples that disrupted the pattern. I needed a fast shutter speed to freeze the movement in the water so I raised the ISO to 400 and achieved a 1/250 second exposure at f/11.
