Last month I took a short road trip to Helena, Montana, the state capital. I had not visited the city for a couple decades! (All the pictures I had from there are on film.) As I strolled down Last Chance Gulch, I noticed this striking red door. Since I had been attending an online photo class about color and line, I was mentally tuned to see this subject not as a door and glass blocks, but as texture, pattern, line and color. I applied the Rule of Thirds to give the door more space in the picture.
