Frosted Deer
Frenchtown, Montana

On a frigid morning of freezing fog when the temperature reached -2 degrees Fahrenheit, my neighbor pointed out these deer huddled against the house. The wall was likely warmer than the air and they were on the south side of the building, ready to catch any warmth from the weak sun breaking through the clouds. More interested in conserving energy and heat, they didn't budge as I photographed from about 15 feet away.
