A View from Above

University of Montana campus
Missoula, Montana

From the base of the "M" on Mount Sentinel above the University of Montana, you have a view of the Oval and the University Hall clock tower with Missoula and the mountains in the distance. My reward for struggling up the switchbacks on the face of the mountain.

UM Forestry students cut the switchbacks for the Mount Sentinel trail in the early 1900s. The white-painted concrete M was built in 1968 and sits 620 feet above the valley floor.
