Barrington Plantation was the 1850s home of Dr. Anson Jones, the last president of the Republic of Texas. It is now a living history farm demonstrating 19th century farming practices of growing crops and tending livestock, minus the slave labor of the time. The plantation is part of the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site.
