Cultivated Flowers Make Good Practice Subjects

Cultivated flowers are frequently larger than wildflowers, which makes it easier to get a frame-filling picture. You can bring them into your house or find them in a greenhouse where there is no wind and you can control the lighting to reduce shadows. (Note the rose photo above is in direct sunlight outside.) You can even create square crops in your camera or phone so your photos are ready for social media.
