Glowing Petals

Lighting can have a dramatic effect on your flower images. Light that comes from behind the blossoms shines through the petals, making them glow. Flowers under the light of an overcast sky or in the full shade have a soft appearance that reveals lots of details. Direct sun light can wash out delicate colors and create dark shadows that hide tiny details. Paying attention to the kind of light shining on your floral subjects can help you improve your pictures.
