| Great Blue Heron Missoula, Montana |
A great blue heron frequents an irrigation ditch near my house. Since I had my smartphone camera with me, I slowly walked up to the fence to get a little closer and used the 3x telephoto lens to zoom in on the bird. In the computer I cropped in slightly, darkened the background and made the bird and its reflection more colorful. (You can also make these changes with the photo editing app on your phone.)
