| April 17, 2026 Red-tailed hawk in pine tree Canon R6 Mark II |
My neighbor sent me a text that morning saying there was a large bird in his backyard tree. So I attached my 70-200mm lens and 1.4x tele-converter to my camera and went next door to see if I could get a couple pictures. By zooming in with the lens and enlarging the photo on the back of the camera, we determined it was not an eagle but likely a red-tailed hawk. The image here is heavily cropped and edited to lighten the dark subject which was silhouetted against the bright sky.
