Record Travel Scenes with Your Smartphone

Harbor, Portree
Isle of Skye, Scotland

I made this image from my hotel room that looked out over the harbor. I turned out the lights in the room, so they did not reflect in the window glass. And I pointed the camera through the cleanest part of the window where there were no raindrops to get a clear shot.

I liked the area of sun shining on the distant shore on the right and the way the boats were spaced out with only two pairs overlapping one another. The low clouds added a shadow on the distant mountains and lent a stormy mood to the scene. I cropped the bottom of the image to remove empty water.
